About Nancy 

Nancy is a fully qualified and professional counsellor & psychotherapist with her practice located in Dungarvan. Nancy holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Psychology along with a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy received from Middlesex University London.

 

In addition to this, Nancy has completed the following training: ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention skills Training), Self-Harm Training, MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression), Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, SAOR (Screening and Brief intervention for Problem Alcohol and Substance use) and Sandspace with Adolescents (Sandspace is a unique approach to working with adolescents). 

Nancy is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). The IACP represents both counsellors and clients and aims to maintain practice and training standards within Ireland. 

Experience 

 

During her training, Nancy worked with domestic abuse victims in a woman's refuge. Since qualifying, along with seeing clients in her Private Practice in Dungarvan, Nancy is a full time member of staff at Pieta House South East which provides a therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress, those who engage in self-harm and those who have been bereaved by suicide. Nancy has worked for Pieta since 2016.
